You may need to book in advance for some events.

Apple Pressing Day

Sunday 29 September 2024
Set-up from 10am, start at 11am, continue until all the apples have been pressed!

Free event.

Venue: The Community Garden – the big gates at the end of Aubrey Road will be open.
 
Everyone is welcome. As there are sharp knives and an apple scratter, children must be supervised.
 
Our annual pressing of surplus apples and windfalls into juice. Many of the apples come from the Bagthorpe Gardens site. Apples are washed, chopped, scratted and then pressed using a traditional apple press.
Refreshments will be available. 
 
Please bring a container if you wish to take some juice home to sample the fruits of your labours!
 

The entrance to the event (the big Community Garden gates) is at the end of Aubrey Road.
Please note that Aubrey Road is not a made road and is very uneven.
A footpath also leads up to the gate from the Hucknall Road next to house number 214. There will be a banner at the Hucknall Road end of the footpath on the day to guide you. 

There is no parking onsite or on Aubrey Road. The nearest parking is on Hucknall Road.

A composting toilet facility is available on the Community Garden, but is not wheelchair accessible.
